Innocent Christians - men, women, and children - have faced unspeakable horrors in Iraq and Syria. They have been terrorized, threatened with barbaric violence and death, and driven from their homes because of their Christian faith.
Please remember our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus not only in Iraq and Syria but also all those around the world who are persecuted for their faith. Many Christians have to meet in secluded locations for fear that they or their families will be persecuted.
Each day, many are imprisoned, tortured or murdered for their faith.
1 Peter 4:12-14 New Living Translation (NLT)
12 Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. 13 Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.
14 If you are insulted because you bear the name of Christ, you will be blessed, for the glorious Spirit of God rests upon you.
As we walk daily in our faith and face issues in our lives, we must always remember that the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, protect, strengthen and call you as His child. Because of the true grace of God and by standing firm in it, we are able to face tomorrow.
